Childhood vaccinations

Vaccinations are becoming compulsory in many countries. In some of the countries there is a rule that children without vaccination cannot attend schools or daycare centers. Some children are exempted from this rule due to medical conditions or religious issues. But vaccination is very important to protect the children from diseases. Children, who are administered with appropriate vaccinations, are capable of developing immunity against many harmful diseases. Although, vaccinations do not protect the child from every disease but it increases the effectiveness of immune system that helps to fight other diseases.

Side effects of vaccination:

The effects of vaccination vary from child to child but mostly the side effects are very mild. Usually, most vaccinations have no side effects. You must consult a doctor before you go for any vaccination so that you are aware of the side effects. Some parents take risk for vaccination although they do see the side effects because the advantages of vaccinations outweigh the side effects. However, parents should be aware of both pros and cons. Thus, it is very essential that parents should educate themselves and should consult a good, reliable doctor.

The children are given vaccines to protect them from ordinary to life threatening diseases such as measles, small pox, chickenpox, polio, etc. On the other hand, these vaccinations have side effects which cannot be ignored no matter how mundane they are. There are few new vaccinations to protect the child from different types of measles but these vaccines causes juvenile diabetes. In most of the cases children develop those diseases that they did not develop before vaccination. The side effects vary in every case but usually it disturbs the mental stability and health. In the past, there have been cases where the child developed minor neurological disorders and psychosis as the vaccine reacted to several parts of the central nervous system. Doctors still do not know that how it has happened and studies are still ongoing.

Doctors believe that the side effects of some vaccines are due to specific genes makeup in a body. There are thousands of evidences given by the specialists that some of the diseases develop in the children because the components presents in the vaccines tend to affect the genetic make-up. There are already certain genes present in children that react with components of vaccines to develop certain diseases. Essentially, it is entirely up to the parents whether to go for vaccinations or not. Even before any decision is made about any vaccination, it is important to have a detailed checkup of your child and then decide whether it is worth taking the risk or not.
There is still a debate going on among experts whether these vaccinations should be made compulsory or not. Advantages of these vaccinations are crystal clear. Your child will be protected against many diseases such as polio that can affect the life of your child or can be almost impossibly expensive to cure in future. Thus, the onus is on the parents whether or not their children should be vaccinated.
