Health in Denmark
 
Similar to other Scandinavian countries, Denmark healthcare industry is dominated by public system, which is primarily financed by government tax. The system assigns the municipalities as the primary healthcare providers through a network of general practitioners. These physicians are contracted to the municipalities with fee that has been pre-agreed and calculated on the basis of per capital and service rendered. The municipalities predominantly manage most of the hospital beds here are attributed to the private sector).

While the local healthcare system is beneficial to the Danish citizens, foreigners and expatriates are exempted from this benefit. Make sure when you visit or work in Denmark, you are insured by a reputable insurance provider just in case of emergency or in need of medical assistance.
